MEET ORLANDO LAMAS

Orlando Lamas has announced his candidacy for Miami Springs City Council, Group 1. Born and raised in South Florida, Lamas is a licensed architect and a certified general contractor. In addition to leading his architectural firm, he is the principal of a full-service construction firm. He has worked on many projects throughout Miami-Dade County, focusing on community design and master planning. As a small business owner, Lamas owns and operates several hospitality venues in Miami, employing almost 200 people locally.

Having been in the industry since the 1990s, Lamas has seen the ups and downs of the building and construction industry in Florida and will work to ensure that our economy remains vibrant by supporting laws that will keep bad actors away and streamlining some of the bureaucratic red tape that currently exists.

Lamas graduated from the University of Florida and earned a Master's degree in architecture. Lamas is distinguished in his field and is involved in many professional organizations, including the American Institute of Architects, the U.S. Green Building Council, and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. He served on the board of the Florida Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board.

He and his wife, Arianna, reside in Miami Springs with their two sons, Andreas and Dario. They attend Blessed Trinity Catholic Church.
